A source of great magic that could summon the Decreator to end the universe, the Unwritten Book was a living being called Elliot Patterson, who was raised by his cultist parents. As he grew older, incantations would form on his body, until they were completed on his 18th birthday.
The "Book" was kidnapped by Cyborg and several other metahumans, forcing the Cult to summon all the forces of Nurnheim to recover them from the house of Dr Niles Caulder. Despite an attempt by Willoughby Kipling to destroy him with fire, the Book survived long enough to be captured by The Little Sisters of Our Lady Razor, who took him into the back garden and read him.
This allowed for the Decreator to be summoned into the Universe and begin destroying the world.

Father Archon - Doom Patrol (2019)
Transcending the mortal plain, Father Archon - formerly a cultist called Todd Patterson - was a High Priest of Nurnheim who was given complete control over the city and their people as a reward for keeping the Unwritten Book safe for the 18 years it took to be completed.
However, due to Patterson's betrayal in the final moments of living, he was dead upon arrival to the destroyed city. He sat limply in his chair as his wife ruled the legions, ordering the members of the Cult of the Unwritten Book to recover Elliot from Willoughby Kipling and the others.

Mother Archon - Doom Patrol (2019)
Formerly the mother of Elliot Patterson, Martha Patterson was granted the title of Mother Achron the High Priest and ruler of Nurnheim, as well as the leader of the Cult of the Unwritten Book, a reward for keeping the Unwritten Book safe for 18 years. All her memories remained intact from her transcendence to the destroyed nation, remembering that she had always done her duty that she was a good custodian of the Unwritten Book, right up until he was taken from her by Robotman and his fellow metahumans.
She ordered for every member of the Cult to go after the book, remaining in Nurnheim's church as Robotman and Pennyfarthing were brought to her, having been caught trespassing. Greeting them, she explained their role and plan to use the Decreator to destroy the world. At the mention of her husband, she expressed her belief that his death was quick and painless, as well as being a necessary sacrifice to ensure the Book remained in their possession. Achron mocked Robotman, asking whether he really thought that he could stop them when they were trapped with them. She went on to say that every member and ally of the Cult had left - with the exception of a few Hood Men - to recover Elliot and guarantee he was read. She mused that they could see everything, including Elliot's location that was supposed to have been made impossible by Willoughby Kipling's cloaking spell.
Waiting for the book to be read, she amused herself by psychologically torturing both Robotman and Penny about perspective, having them view each other in many different forms as a way to prove her point that she, in their opinion, might not have been a good mother, but she was a good keeper of the Unwritten Book. Among these illusions was the reduction of Steele to his brain and Penny to the original personality of Jane, a terrified child called Kay Challis. Complementing her beauty, Achron declared that they were in the perfect place to watch the world die, observing the Universe's last moments before they too would be taken. She tried to comfort Kay, although her memories of Elliot as her son were slowly wearing away, leaving nothing left but her desire for the Decreator's boon.
Realising that something was interfering with the Decreator's power, Mother Archon stormed through the streets, where she was confronted by Marilyn, a worshipper of the Recreator and their cult's chosen one. She berated the woman for challenging the might of the Decreator, however, Marilyn laughed that she only believed in Springsteen.
Before she can do anything to stop her, Mother Archon was caught in an explosion caused by Marilyn shooting her oxygen tank, killing them all and allowing Dr Harrison and Robotman to ring the bell of Nurnheim and prepare for the summoning of the Recreator.
